Writer and editor at Anthropic, working on editorial.
Previously managing editor at Asterisk Magazine, a journal of hard thinking on neglected topics.
By training I'm a social scientist — PhD in public health from Washington University in St. Louis, with a dissertation on the nutrition transition and ultra-processed food. Before that I spent several years as a research consultant, leading mixed-methods field studies across Jordan, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, and Nepal for USAID and the Gates Foundation. Earlier still, I designed teacher training at Bridge International Academies and taught in the classroom with Teach for America.
Outside work I'm interested in meditation and contemplative science.
